VIAGEM AOS PAÍSES DE LÍNGUA PORTUGUESA

A tour through the world of the Portuguese language. But several trips I made to Portugal, a country that I love immensely, it is quite common to find Portuguese readers in love with my characters. But it's not just them that give me this delicious feeling. There are Cape Verdeans, Mozambicans, Angolans and people from other Portuguese-speaking countries, who emotionally tell me that they read Turma da Mônica's magazines in the 1970s and 1980s, when they were published by Editora Abril. That's why I was so excited about this third partnership between my studio and the writer José Santos, who has already taken Turma da Mônica touring Portugal and Latin America, with more than 500 word entries. in our language and in Spanish. This time, the trip is to all Portuguese-speaking countries. And how beautiful this language that is common to so many people is! More than that: how many differences it can present in each of these locations. This aspect is invaluable, which makes this book valuable for readers of all ages. And that's why our characters will learn at the same time as the readers. I'm very proud of the fact that Mônica, Cebolinha, Magali, Cascão and company are considered informal ambassadors of the Portuguese language, wherever they are. But this trip through Portuguese-speaking countries is a very special adventure. After all, it is important that children, their parents and teachers know the richness of our language, which is spoken on several continents. And the mission gains more responsibility in this book, organized by the Brazilian Embassy in Cape Verde and the Ceará publisher IMEPH. But always with the playful and fun spirit of Turma da Mônica. I truly hope that this book can reach children in all countries in the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries. And may it serve as an inspiration for teachers to carry out activities with their students in the classroom, showing that the Portuguese language is one, even if it is spoken with different accents, in different settings and by the most varied people.
