Having decided, a baby bird leaves the nest and walks along a long tree branch that spans the pages of the book. Along the way, he meets family and friends to whom he announces: “I’m coming!” One by one, the characters offer you objects and recommendations for the journey: flashlight, cookies, umbrella, book, etc. But where he will be going is a mystery that the reader will only discover at the end, amid laughter and a good dose of surprise.
