A granddaughter narrates her relationship with her grandmother, which, despite being permeated by the silence of words, is filled with teachings, affection, and care through the "unsaid." By taking care of the land and planting seeds, the grandmother nourishes the body and soul of the family. By transforming the land into masks and art, the grandmother enriches the memories and knowledge of the granddaughter and her community. As they dedicate their hands to the earth and to the care of the granddaughter, both grandmother and girl watch time pass and establish an unforgettable bond that transcends generations—past and future.
 
In this collaboration by award-winning creators Carol and Yuri, words and images come together in harmony to, through silence and actions, honor love, ancestry, and respect for those who came before us and those who will come after. Inspired by the ceramic artists of the Jequitinhonha Valley, Carol gives space to the earth and clay, working with natural paints to depict the love and masks so characteristic of the region on the hands and faces of this grandmother and granddaughter.
