Teresa has a turtle was specially designed for young children. The narrative is simple and set in the home of sweet girl Teresa. The illustrations portray different locations such as the backyard, where Teresa's turtle lays her eggs, the garage, the garden, the kitchen, familiar environments that can be parallel to those in young readers' homes, generating familiarity. Right at the opening, Teresa and her turtle, Tatá, are introduced. It is no coincidence that the pet's name has repeated phonemes with the first vowel of the alphabet combined with the letter t. The eggs hatch and Tatá's beautiful puppies appear, one on each day of the week and in different places in the house. On Monday the first turtle arrives, found by the girl in the garage and named “Tetê”. Then begins the progression of the days of the week, of names formed by repeated phonemes with the letter t and the other vowels of the alphabet, and the numerical evolution of the animals also begins. The text highlights the total number of turtles formed at each appearance, and the illustrations clearly represent the animals so that they can be counted by children. The repetition of the situation in progression, the musicality of the phonemes and the evolution of the days of the week are important elements to make reading the work very fun.
