SOU INDÍGENA!

A richly illustrated poem-manifesto celebrating the importance and wonder of being and recognizing oneself as Indigenous.
The narrator of this poem-manifesto proudly affirms and reaffirms as many times as necessary that yes, she is Indigenous! And precisely because she takes pride in her origins, her ancestors, and her identity, she narrates with strength and joy everything that being Indigenous means and represents, going far beyond the many stereotypes about Brazil's Indigenous peoples.
On the pages of this book, Cláudia A. Flor D'Maria, an Amapá native with Itaquera/Itakuera origins, combines her heartfelt words with the colorful, charming, and contemporary illustrations by the Manauara Indigenous artist Raquel Teixeira. Together, in a dynamic graphic design, they invite readers of all ages to connect with Indigenous cultures and appreciate the wisdom, empathy, and enchantment they carry with them.
