Recommendation: read it with me and I start reading alone.
The neighbor reads a book, or rather, he tries to read your book. But strange noises coming from the other side of the wall interrupt your reading all the time. BOING BOING! LA-LA-LA! BOOM BOOM BOOM! KNOW KNOW KNOW! The neighbor hits the wall several times, he starts to get very angry! Pssst! Silence. I want to read my book. When you no longer know what to do, you have an idea that finally solves your problem. Pssst! Silence. Now the neighbor and the girl read a book, until they are interrupted by another noise! A book full of humor that pays homage to books.
The stitching of the book divides the two pages like a wall divides two neighboring apartments. The reader follows what happens simultaneously in the two houses; on one side, the girl plays and makes noise; on the other, the neighbor tries to read a book. Short phrases and onomatopoeia play a prominent role, reinforcing the characters' actions and provoking sound discoveries when read aloud. After the first few pages, the reader understands the narrative structure and is encouraged to make predictions. The unexpected outcome highlights the third character in the narrative: the dog. The vibrant colors serve as a counterpoint to the line illustrations, transparencies and graphics.
