Learning to read doesn't have to be boring. On the contrary, learning to read can be really cool, like riding a bike, playing with dolls or playing ball. In Words, many words..., the first book published by Ruth Rocha, she created a kind of primer that is also a book of poems. We realize that she had fun while writing (because the reader has fun while reading), bringing together words that begin with the same letter on the same page and discovering rhymes between them. The result is texts that seem to float a little above the page — like the juggles that a juggler throws into the air, without ever letting them fall to the ground. In other words, the result is poems.
