The stories in this book narrate adventures, dramas and adventures of African princesses and princes. Each in their own way, these characters face wars, unravel mysteries, make self-discoveries and mature in tales narrated by Kiusam de Oliveira, one of the most important names in black-Brazilian literature.
The narratives are accompanied by beautiful illustrations by Pernambuco artist Ayodê França. As a whole, Omo-oba is more than a book -- it is also the way that the author found to empower boys and girls from all over Brazil, by enhancing the virtues of a royalty that is the true ancestry of the black population of our country.
