O MUNDO NO BLACK POWER DE TAYÓ

Tayó is a black girl who is proud of her curly hair with a black power hairstyle, decorating it in the most diverse ways. The author presents a character full of self-esteem, capable of facing aggression from classmates, who say that her hair is “bad”. But how can “fluffy, beautiful and fragrant” hair be bad? “You have a headache because you can't carry the world in your hair”, the girl replies to her colleagues. With this narrative, the author transforms Tayó's enormous curly hair into a metaphor for the cultural richness of a people and for the richness of a healthy girl's imagination.
