After entertaining the kids with The Square Book and The Round Book, in which he plays with geometric shapes in humorous drawings, the artist from Minas Gerais Caulos now presents the unusual The Strait Book. In this release, he once again shows, with his cheerful and colorful line, different perspectives for the beings and objects that surround us, now based on the notion of length and width.
Author of the successful collection Pintando o Sete, which recreates the lives of painters such as Matisse, Magritte, Mondrian, Seurat and Giotto in a poetic and original way for children, Caulos shows in The Narrow Book how much can fit into the imagination of an artist who knows how to see the world through the eyes of a child. When faced with a blank sheet of paper – whether tall and narrow or short and long – he immediately tries to invent things, people, places and animals to instigate the children's curiosity.
