O JANTAR FANTASMA
Imagine sharing a table with six ghosts in a haunted castle for a midnight dinner. Scary? Not so much. The Ghost Dinner isn't a horror book. "The story told here is not scary, it is mouth-watering and laugh-out-loud!", as the book's cover notes. French author and illustrator Jacques Duquennoy has a subtle and delicate style and tells, in just a few words, a story that will delight and amuse little ones. The book is the first in a five-volume series starring the friendly little ghosts.
The host of the evening is Henri. He is a master chef and prepares delicious delicacies to serve to his friends. With each new dish or drink, a different sensation. From the aperitif to the coffee, the six guests delight in Henri's delicacies, and literally melt at the final surprise. The reader, in turn, is surprised on each page by Duquennoy's simple but funny drawings, as are his little ghosts when they taste the delicacies prepared by Henri.
After dinner, everyone helps the owner of the house wash the dishes, even though you can't see them very well... and only after a good cup of hot milk do the friendly ghosts return to their original "form". Well-mannered and fun, the characters of The Ghost Dinner will win over children and make this ghostly meal a full meal for young readers!
