"Whoever wants to get home soon,
don't walk with a tortoise,
because the tortoise is in no hurry.
He doesn't care"
In the second book of the unpublished collection "Itamar for children", the composer, singer and instrumentalist Itamar Assumpção plays with the characteristics of tortoises and part of them to imagine the most amusing suppositions: what if the animal played sax? Or battery? If you paraded at Carnival? What if someone had the idea of taking the tortoise to church or school?
With the well-designed rhymes and images that were characteristic of his songs, Itamar once again approaches the children's universe through his enchantment with animals. "The tortoise doesn't care" is a book about animals, of course, but also about respect for nature and the desire for peace. And he's a fan of Itamar. The text was also edited by the poet Alice Ruiz S, a long-time friend and working partner of the author.
