The girl Yacy-May was so special that she made the sun fall in love with her, leaving the moon jealous. The manatee emerged from the union of Guaporé, son of the great fish chief, with Panãby'piã, daughter of the ruler of the Maraguá, and signaled peace between humans and fish. One day, the mysterious old woman Pelenosamo has her house invaded by a curious girl, who decides to investigate what she did with the dry branches that she always collected and didn't share with anyone. These are some previews of the stories collected in this anthology, told or retold by writers from the indigenous nations Mebengôkre Kayapó, Saterê-Mawé, Maraguá, Pirá-Tapuya Waíkhana, Balatiponé Umutina, Desana, Guarani Mbyá, Krenak and Kurâ Bakairi.

Dealing with the most diverse themes – from origin myths to stories of impossible love –, the narratives take the reader through situations and very specific endings, always accompanied by a glossary and an informative text about the indigenous people of each author's origin.
