This is the story of a strange animal that is adrift, floating on a sheet of ice in a distant and unknown land. Far from his home, he finds himself fragile and, despite his size, needs to be welcomed and loved.
 
However, the inhabitants of that land do not feel comfortable in front of the strange creature, and declare him a dangerous invader of their homeland. The strange animal is observed all the time and continues alone, collecting the leaves it finds along the way, which bring it comfort to spend the harsh lonely nights.
 
Acceptance and welcoming are some of the themes covered in Sandra Dieckmann's work. With sensitive language, the author shows how young readers can learn a lot by living with things that are different.
