Among the many artistic languages ​​he explored throughout his life, the composer, singer and instrumentalist Itamar Assumpção also wrote books for children. But nobody knew. "Homem-Bicho - Bicho-Homem" is the first volume of the unpublished collection “Itamar for children”, which will be released by Editora Caixote throughout 2021 and 2022. It is an irreverent and fun poem about animals, which mixes numbers, rhythm and unusual poetic images, talking about the increasingly urgent preservation of nature, but in a way that only animals could do. The book was illustrated by Dalton Paula, a celebrated Brazilian artist who investigates the influences of the African diaspora on the culture and history of our country. And he's a fan of Itamar. The text was also edited by the poet Alice Ruiz S, a long-time friend and working partner of the author.
