One hundred stories that prove the strength of a confident heart: the power to change the world.
 
Bedtime Stories for Rebel Girls is a book with 100 stories about the lives of 100 extraordinary women from the past and present, illustrated by 60 female artists from around the world entire.
 
The project was designed by Elena Favilli and Francesca Cavallo, co-founders of the children's media company Timbuktu Labs, in the United States. The book tells stories ranging from Frida Kahlo, through Elizabeth I, to Serena Williams and Maya Gabeira; all illustrated by artists from around the world.
 
With texts reminiscent of a fairy tale style, many of the stories begin with the classic “Once Upon a Time”, because, according to the author herself – Favalli –, the idea is to give the feeling of a modern fairy tale, to lull little ones to sleep before bed.
 
May these brave women inspire you. May their portraits imprint on our daughters and sons the deep conviction that beauty manifests itself in all shapes, colors and ages. In Bedtime Stories for Rebel Girls, all we can feel is hope and excitement for the world we are building. A world where gender doesn't define how high you can dream or how far you can go.
