In China, Pilar, Breno and the cat Samba meet the girl Liu Fang and, together, they try to save her family and their flooded city when the Black Dragon's fury turns the waters of the river.
To calm him down, the four adventurers travel a long path that passes through the Wall of China, rice fields, Beijing and much more, with help from Confucius, the goddess Nu Wa, an herbalist and an archery master. They sail down the Yangtze River and save a baby panda from the clutches of an illegal trader, float after eating the fruits of the largest tree in the world, discover the Chinese horoscope, the magical Xirang treasure and the story of the first known Cinderella. Finally, they tame the dragon and fly on its back. And, to top it off, Pilar even finds clues to her father's whereabouts.
