DIÁLOGOS FABULOSÍSSIMOS

Resuming the narrative in dialogues - as he did in the book Very interesting dialogues -, Gilles Eduar recreates twenty of La Fontaine's fables accompanied by delicate and humorous illustrations, which fit perfectly with the poetic and spontaneous tone of the texts.

The Frenchman Jean de la Fontaine (1621-95) dedicated himself to different genres of literature, but it was with the publication of his fables that he acquired great fame. There are more than two hundred stories, written in verse in a sophisticated and pleasant way, which enchanted children and adults from all over the world.

Gilles Eduar took up some of the best known and retold them in dialogue form. They are fun and often surprising conversations, as the author subverts the moral contained in the classic fable and reinterprets it in a creative and original way, presenting another outcome or another point of view on the morality it inspires.
 
Thus, in the new version of the story of the Cicada and the Ant, for example, the Cicada invites the Ant to go to a party where he will play and sing, and the little worker, who never thought she could Have fun, pay the ticket to watch your artist friend's show. In the case of the dialogue between the Frog and the Ox, if in the first version the character was an envious Frog who swells until he bursts, in this version the Frog ends up being invited by the Ox to meet his cousin Cow.

In addition to these, the book is made up of eighteen other fabulous conversations - between the Stork and the Wolf, the Oak and the Reed, the Hare and the Turtle, the fish and the fisherman, the Lion and the Mosquito, the urban mouse and the field mouse, the Mouse and the Lion...

At the end of the volume, the author briefly presents the stories as La Fontaine told them, so that the reader can compare the two versions, and perhaps be encouraged to create their own.
