ALMANAQUE RUTH ROCHA

In the presentation of this Almanaque Ruth Rocha, the author explains that, when she was little, she loved reading the Almanac do Tico-Tico, which always came out close to Christmas. She says that she spent the whole time waiting for it, a big, colorful book that talked about a little bit of everything. But many years ago Tico-Tico stopped being published.

"So I decided to make an almanac for my dear readers. I chose a lot of stories, games, jokes and riddles, lots of poetry, toys that we can make ourselves and many more surprises", says our dear Ruth.

The result couldn't be more charming. Extensively illustrated by seven talented artists, the almanac tells you that, in Australia, rabbits have become a real pest; that January 25th is the birthday of Tom Jobim, a great Brazilian composer; that “separate” is written all together, but “all together” is written separately; and a lot of other funny and interesting things. You'll also be able to read some stories by the author of Marcelo, quince, hammer and an adaptation of a Celtic legend that she made in partnership with Anna Flora.

And I'll say more: whoever sleeps with dogs wakes up with fleas. (A saying I learned from reading this book.)
