A HISTÓRIA DE PEDRO COELHO
Before leaving, Mrs. Rabbit warned her four bunnies, Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Peter: “You can go for a walk in the fields, but don't go into Mr. MacGregor's garden!” Fin in November 2016, it was time for us to meet Pedro Coelho, the most famous character by British writer Beatrix Potter (1866-1943).
In an exquisite translation by writer Rosana Rios, the publisher is now releasing Miss Potter's great classic, The Story of Pedro Coelho, a resounding success originally published in 1902. In the opinion of Brazilian writer Ana Maria Machado, “Beatrix Potter is one of the most original voices in children's literature.”
In this edition, the book is edited the way the author imagined it, with the watercolors on a full page dialoguing slowly with the texts, in a small format to fit in children's hands — which in itself is a novelty, because there are currently no Brazilian editions with this fundamental characteristic.
The publication of The Story of Pedro Coelho continues the celebration of 150 years since the birth of Beatrix Potter.
Age range
Aimed at children in the literacy phase or already literate, between 5 and 7 years old, which does not prevent reading from being fun and recommended for younger children, who read the texts and images shared with an adult. Or even for us, who are much bigger!
